Abstract

This work aims to bring the attention of psychologists, psychotherapists and education operators to the theme of "gender", understood as an aspect that strongly influences the identity, formation and existential growth of the individual. This conditioning, in fact, makes categories of "gender" and the culturally associated characteristics with them a potential factor of individual and social discomfort. In the current historical period, the "gender issue" is widely recognized and debated, which more often than not refers to an idea of deconstruction of social stereotypes, aimed at preventing and combating discrimination phenomena. This intent characterizes many of the educational interventions on the theme of "gender differences", which sometimes run the risk of operating on an informative rather than an emotional level. This article aims to launch a reflection on the emotional aspects of gender identity, on the comforts and discomforts it entails, with the prospect of introducing a research-intervention method on the topic, which speaks less of "education" and "experience".
